The mission of the International Society for Evolution, Medicine, and Public Health is to foster communication among scientists, students, clinicians and public health professionals who want to use evolutionary insights to improve medical research and practice, and to use studies of human health and disease to advance evolutionary biology. To accomplish this mission ISEMPH sponsors annual meetings, the journal Evolution, Medicine, & Public Health, The Evolution and Medicine Review, and EvMedEd. Join ISEMPH to help us discover new ways that evolutionary biology can improve human health.
2020 ISEMPH Annual Meeting Cancelled
On behalf of the ISEMPH leadership, we extend our thoughts and concerns for all communities affected by COVID-19. After thoughtful consideration and deliberations, we have made the difficult and necessary decision to cancel the 2020 ISEMPH Annual Meeting scheduled to be held in Athens, Georgia from July 15 – 18, 2020. In light of recent guidance from public health officials, it became clear to us that canceling the annual meeting would be the best course of action at this time.
We thank everyone who submitted abstracts and have enthusiastically engaged with the ISEMPH leadership about the work of the society. In the coming months, we plan to host web-based seminars, journal clubs and other engaging activities to continue our conversations around the topics of evolution, medicine and public health. We welcome your feedback on the type of activities and topics that would be of greatest interest to you. Please e-mail your ideas to: email@example.com.
What Happens Next?
If you registered for the ISEMPH Annual Meeting, you will receive a full registration refund by the end of March 2020. Once your registration cancellation is processed, you will receive confirmation in a separate email. Should you not receive a refund to the original form of payment you used, send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org for a status update. Please remember to cancel any personal arrangements you’ve made, such as travel and housing reservations.
We look forward to being in touch again very soon as our plans for alternative engagement and educational activities come together in the months ahead. In the meantime, please take good care.

In addition to research and review articles it publishes very short overviews of clinical topics and core principles of evolutionary medicine. Charles Nunn is the Editor. He welcomes email notes about possible article.
