February 3 is the abstract submission deadline for ISEMPH 2025
Please click here to go to the abstract submission form, and here for the symposia submission form.
Abstract submission is open for the International Society for Evolution, Medicine and Public Health 10th Annual Meeting, 8-10 July, 2025 in Nashville, TN. 2024 in Durham, UK until February 3. Abstracts are welcome for proposals for symposia and workshops as well as talks and posters. Priority will go to submissions received by the deadline but posters can still be submitted until May 1. Please contact ProgramCommittee@evmed.org about submission of late or late breaking abstracts for talks.
Each conference participant can present a maximum of one talk and one poster. If you are participating in a symposium, your talk counts towards this maximum. Leading or speaking in a workshop or discussion session does not count towards this maximum. Being a non-presenting author on another talk does not disqualify you from presenting your own talk. If you are participating in a symposium, you must also submit your presentation as a unique abstract.
This year, we especially encourage submissions of works-in-progress and unpublished results, and the abstract evaluation process will not give preference to submissions with or without completed results.
We encourage symposia and workshops on dynamic topics of broad interest to the evolutionary medicine community. Symposium and workshop proposals should include the names of 2-4 individuals who have agreed to participate. If you are organizing a symposium, be sure to let the other participants know that they must also submit their presentations as individual abstracts. Definitions: Symposia are groups of up to 4 interrelated talks and should encourage discussion, so, for example, this may involve very short talks and longer discussion periods. Workshops are creative, variable, audience participatory, not presentation based sessions. Symposia and workshops are 1 hour each. Posters are especially welcome as a way to create conversations. Poster printing will be available so you don't have to travel with a poster, details sent with acceptance emails.
This year we are offering travel awards to international students who are either unfunded or unable to obtain travel/conference funding from their scholarships. Preference will be given to students from low to middle income countries. The awards will be $1000 to international students from countries beyond Europe and $500 to students within the EU. To apply for an award please fill in the information box in the abstract submission form with details about the degree for which you are studying, your institution, your country of origin (and normal residence), whether you are unfunded or funded, the source of any funding, and in a sentence or two, reasons why you think you would qualify for an ISEMPH travel award. Students must be submitting an abstract in order to apply for these awards.
Please register at the time you submit your abstract at the early bird discounted rate. If you must wait, your registration must be paid by a week after abstract notifications are sent out or your presentation will be removed from the program. Registration fees are refundable until 2 weeks before the conference.
Submissions by the deadline get priority, but late breaking abstracts and posters can be submitted later.
If you are part of a symposium proposal, be sure to submit a separate abstract for your talk!
