ISEMPH GLOBAL VILLAGE SOCIAL (ONLINE)

Last minute information on how to attend live sessions is here.

What is the Global Village social?

The Global Village is an informal social event, which will take place as part of the ISEMPH 2021 Annual Meeting. It’s a chance for delegates to meet and exchange cultures. As an international society, our diversity is a strength, and this social will celebrate that.

What’s involved?

Come along to this virtual meet-up, 14th July, to have fun and share elements of your local culture with other conference delegates. It’s a social, so feel free to bring food and drink along with you. You’ll be able to move freely between Zoom rooms to meet new people.

If you like, you can just listen to what others have to say but, ideally, we’d like you to prepare to share something from your local region. Choose something that you could easily describe, explain, or play via screen sharing in under 2 minutes.

Here are some ideas for things you might prepare to share:

  •           Pictures of a local landmark
  •           A piece of local poetry
  •           Pictures of art from your region
  •           A piece of music that your area is known for
  •           A regional dance
  •           The recipe for some famous local cuisine
  •           Info about your local sports team

Do I need to sign up?

You can attend without signing up. There will be a link in the programme, which you can follow to join on the day. If you have questions, please email gillian.pepper@northumbria.ac.uk.
