Biography
Frank Rühli, Dr med, PhD is Dean of the Medical Faculty and Founding Chair (Full Professor) and Director of the Institute of Evolutionary Medicine, University of Zurich (UZH), Switzerland. He is faculty member of both, the medical and the science faculty of the University of Zurich. He is Co-Head of the Center for Crisis Competence" at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics, University of Zurich. He holds the Toh Chin Chye Visiting Professorship at the Yong Loo Lin Medical School, National University of Singapore and a Honorary Adjunct Professorship at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, The University of Adelaide, Australia. He was a.o. an Honorary Visiting Professor at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University Singapore and a visiting professor at the Medical Faculty of the University of Geneva, Switzerland. He is co-founder and steering commitee member of the One Health Institute and he is also board member of the Europa Insitute, both at the UZH. His main interests are evolutionary medicine (esp. diagnostic imaging of ancient mummies) academic governance and health care policy. Frank Rühli has acquired ca. 20 million USD of third-party funding and has a total of ca. 300 scientific publications. He serves in multiple professional bodies (e.g. as past-president of the leading international society of evolutionary medicine, as a member of scientific museum advisory boards or as president of an archeology foundation), editorial boards and political organizations (e.g. he is a member of the Parliament of the City Zurich). Prof Rühli holds also an Executive MBA degree and serves in the rank of a colonel in the militia staff of the chief of the Swiss Armed Forces. He is Ambassador (Head) of the European Regional Office of the Association of Academic Health Centers International.
