Biography
I am a board certified medical and veterinary entomologist interested in vector-borne disease dynamics, public health, and science policy. In my current role with the NC State Global One Health Academy, I help lead a university-wide interdisciplinary initiative that engages in research, education, and public discourse around three thematic areas: driving food and water solutions, combating infectious diseases, and addressing climate change-health disparities. In my previous role with TriCEM, I led initiatives to advance research and training in evolutionary medicine. My PhD research focused on the effects of suburban development on mosquito assemblages, and its subsequent impacts on pathogen transmission using dog heartworm disease as a study system.
